Troubleshooting Scanner Issues Troubleshooting Scanner Issues Raptor Optical Reader Scanner Issue: My is not taking the ID. You may need local admin rights to complete the following steps. Ensure your drivers are installed. Right click on My computer, click Manage, and select Device Manager. The CR-5400 is designed to automatically authenticate ID-1 documents such as driver license, military ID’s, Green cards and other ID-1 sized government issued identity cards that people use as. Under Imaging Device, you will see CSSNSCANSHELL 800. Make sure there are no yellow exclamations. If your scanner looks like this image below, continue to step one. If there is anything yellow next to CSSN-SCANSHELL. Install the drivers using the following files: 1. Close vSoft and all programs 2. Click and save one of the following files: (vSoft Setup) 3. Once the file is complete, run and install your scanner software. Choose the appropriate scanner in the vSoft setup. Once finished, you will be ask to calibrate the scanner. Place calibrate card with black line downs, thin line first into the scanner securely. Hold the card into place and click Calibrate. This process takes 40-50 seconds to be successful ( attached is a card if you have lost your calibration card, cut along dotted line) 5. Once finished, log into the vSoft software. A new link will be placed on your desktop. Click on Visitor- Sign In Visitor 7. Mac trackpad issues. Please license into scanner and click SCAN. Issue: When scanning a license vSoft puts different letters on the screen than is on the ID. Not reading correctly. Possible Resolutions: Scanshell Scanner needs calibration. CAMSCAN users will not have to calibrate the scanner. Close vSoft completely and disconnect the cable BEHIND your scanner for about 30 seconds. This will allow the power to restart on your scanner. Locate your 'Calibration Paper' from your vSoft Setup Packet. If this method does not work, please follow the steps on method two. Method Two: While logged into vSoft, Click Profile > Scanner Utilities Hold the calibration card into the scanner and click the Calibrate button. Click OK to start the scan. This process should take about 40 seconds to complete successfully. If it takes less than 10 seconds try again. The scanner will take the calibration card very slowly through the scanner. Note: The scanner will occasionally need to be calibrated to insure the best possible license scan.
